Social Impact Hub is a purpose-driven intermediary that collaborates with a broad range of changemakers.

Through advice, education, mobilising capital and ecosystem building, we build capacity to amplify impact.

We are always evolving

Yet, one thing remains the same: we are motivated to work collaboratively to catalyse, sustain and scale meaningful impact.

 

2014: THE BEGINNING

The Social Impact Hub was founded by Jessica Roth after her experience working at a legal clinic at Harvard Law School.

2014: THE FIRST PILOT

A group of nine UNSW Law Students worked on three impact-focused projects.

2015: UNSW BUSINESS COURSE

We commenced teaching COMM3030 Social Entrepreneurship Practicum with UNSW Business School.

2015: CULTIVATING IMPACT INVESTING IN AUSTRALIA

We published the first edition of the Field Guide to Impact Investing for Charitable Trusts & Foundations and also seeded and incubated the first Impact Investment Summit Asia Pacific.

2017: CONNECTING THE IMPACT INVESTING COMMUNITY

We collaborated with others in the ecosystem to launch the Impact Investing Hub which maps the Australian impact investing ecosystem and connects investors with investment opportunities via a Live Deals Library.

2018: GUO SOCIAL PROGRAM

We began delivering an incubator program for social entrepreneurs at The Incubator at Macquarie University.

2018: 500 CHANGEMAKERS INSPIRED

We reached the major milestone of educating 500 students via our educational programs.

2018: TRANSFORMING HOW WE THINK ABOUT GIVING

To create a stronger charity and not-for-profit sector that is capable of delivering on impact, we launched Funding for Impact, a collaborative thought-leadership project.

2018: AUSTRALIAN IMPACT INVESTING AWARDS

To recognise outstanding activity in the Australian impact investing ecosystem, we launched the Awards in collaboration with the Impact Investment Summit Asia Pacific.

2019: IMPACT INVESTMENT READY GROWTH GRANT

We were successful in obtaining the grant for the 6th time, becoming a leading provider for the IIRGG.

2019: SCALING IMPACT ROADSHOW

To share our expertise on impact investment readiness, we partnered with EY and collaborated with others to deliver workshops for social entrepreneurs across Australia.

2020: SCALING IMPACT ACCELERATOR

We launched the Scaling Impact accelerator program to help social start-ups prepare to take on impact investment.

2020: COVID-19 SUPPORT FOR SOCIAL ENTERPRISES

We launched the RISE program to support social enterprises affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

2020: REIMAGINE IMPACT

We launched Reimagine Impact to empower social-purpose leaders, academics, corporate and government intrapreneurs with the adaptive leadership skills and confidence of human-centred design to tackle disruption and build resilience and innovation capability.

2021: SCALING IMPACT FELLOWSHIP

We launched the Scaling Impact Fellowship for aspiring changemakers seeking to drive greater impact through their work and beyond.

2021: SOCIAL ENTERPRISE LEGAL TOOLKIT

We launched the Social Enterprise Legal Toolkit to guide for-purpose entities on their legal structure and constitution.

2021: SOCIAL SECTOR TRANSFORMATION FUND (SSTF)

We were engaged by NSW Department of Communities & Justice to provide in-depth Governance and Strategy capacity building and tailored advisory services as part of the $50m SSTF initiative.
