Impact Investing Hub, in collaboration with Philanthropy Australia,present an Impact Investing Webinar Series for social enterprises, not-for-profits, foundations, institutional and impact investors and professional advisors. 

Over three insightful sessions, we'll provide a comprehensive introduction to sustainability, delve into the practical applications of impact investing, and explore the innovative realm of blended finance. Led by industry pioneers and thought leaders, this series aims to demystify the complexities of sustainability, illuminate the principles and practices of impact investing, and unveil innovative funding strategies to support Australia's impact sector. Join us as we uncover the interconnectedness of these disciplines and their collective potential to drive positive change.

1. Sustainability 101 | Friday 10th May, 12.00PM - 1.00PM AEST

  • Understanding sustainability and ESG.
  • Explore the drivers behind the sustainability and ESG agenda.
  • Learn about how business and government are responding to emerging trends.
  • Hear examples of how climate/sustainability focused impact-investors are contributing to solutions.

2. Impact Investing in Practice | Friday 17th May, 12.00PM - 1.00PM AEST

  • Learn about the global and Australian market landscape.
  • Hear from a variety of speakers, sharing their experience across different impact investments.

3. Blended Finance | Friday 24th May, 12.00PM - 1.00PM AEST

  • Learn about blended finance and how catalytic capital can bring together investors with a shared vision for impact.
  • Understand the catalytic role that foundations can play in funding ‘the missing middle’, and the changing shape of philanthropy in Australia as more foundations explore impact investing.
  • Deep dive into the case study of Paul Ramsay Foundation's $5m catalytic funding (50% debt, 50% grants) of Australian Spatial Analytics.

Jessica Mendoza-Roth | Founder & CEO at Social Impact Hub

Jessica is the Founder and CEO of the Social Impact Hub. The Social Impact Hub advises, educates, collaborates and mobilises capital for impact. Jessica is also a consultant to the impact investment sector, having served as the Impact Strategist for Blue River Group, an independent impact investment services firm, and opened the Sydney office of Impact Investment Group. Previously, Jessica was a Solicitor at King & Wood Mallesons in Sydney. She holds a B.A. and LL.B. (with First Class Honours) from UNSW and a LL.M. from Harvard Law School, where she was the recipient of the R.G. Menzies Scholarship to Harvard, and she studied social entrepreneurship, philanthropy and impact investing.

Rob Haggett | Head of Mobilising Capital at Social Impact Hub

Rob Haggett is the Head of Mobilising Capital and Impact at the Social Impact Hub, leading the Impact Investing Hub initiative as well as impact investing advisory and education within the team. He has worked on projects with Atlassian Foundation, Westpac Foundation, Paul Ramsay Foundation, MinterEllison and Impact Investing Australia as well as managing the NSW Department of Communities and Justice's Social Sector Transformation Fund (SSTF). Rob previously worked in international development, specialising in responsible finance and measurement initiatives in Nepal, Indonesia and Cambodia as well as co-leading Deloitte's Social Impact Consulting team in Australia. He has sat on a number of boards and advisory groups and was previously CEO of Pocket City Farms, a social enterprise focused on sustainability and regenerative agriculture.

Hannah Quill | Marketing & Events Manager, Sustainability Lead, Social Impact Hub

Hannah is the Marketing and Events Manager and Sustainability Lead at Social Impact Hub, leading the marketing strategy and implementation for Social Impact Hub and Impact Investing Hub.
