The Funding Network (TFN) is an Australian non-profit organisation that hosts fun live crowd-funding events for social entrepreneurs and small non-profits. The social change organisations selected to pitch have the opportunity to showcase their work, secure funding, mentorship, and expand their donor base and networks.
TFN spends significant time and resources sourcing good early stage social change projects to fund. Students researched Australian intermediaries and other organisations that can refer projects to TFN, and also mapped some of early stage social change projects that currently exist, according to geographical location, cause area, size and other criteria. This involved desk-based research and telephone calls with intermediaries that support social change organisations in some way, with the ultimate goal of helping TFN develop a pipeline of projects to fund.
